Fall Orientations 2023

Welcome or Welcome back! Either way, we’re excited to meet you! Here are the events we’ve organized for orientations as well a Land Alliance Rally we are supporting.


Drag Bingo (Virtual)

Wednesday, September 20th, 2023, 5-6pm

Drag Bingo is back! Join us for this virtual event hosted by a sensational Toronto-based drag performer✨ Come through, make friends and have fun! Stay for 1, 2, or all 3 games for a chance to win some prizes! Follow us on social media for a sneak peek on what prizes we have in store. This is a family friendly event – children and dependents are welcome to join!

Dinner voucher:

Arts & Crafts Night (Virtual) 

Thursday, September 21st, 2023, 5-6pm

Kick off the semester by creating a new masterpiece for your wall! Join us on Thurs Sept 21 (5-6pm) for Arts & Crafts Night as we take some time to get in touch with our creative sides. Whether you’re a master artist or an interested beginner, this night is for you! This is a family friendly event – children and dependents are welcome to join! 

Check out our materials list for items you may need to participate. These items can be bought at your closest dollar store, but if you’re not able to access them, not to worry! Every Wed from 11am-4pm, we will have in-person pickups of Arts & Crafts packages at the TMAPS office, room 301B – Student Campus Centre (55 Gould St). These materials packages will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. 

Materials Required:

-Canvas or mixed media paper
-Magazines
-Paintbrushes x 3
-Paints
-Coloured marker
-Newspaper or garbage bag
-Cup/bowl of water
-Paper towels/napkins

TMAPS Takes On Gould St! (In-Person)

Friday, September 22nd, 2023, 2:30-6pm

Join TMAPS as we take on Gould St! All TMAPS members will receive a free orientation swag bag. There will be live music, delicious food and apple cider. Get to know TMAPS. We’re happy to answer any questions you may have about TMAPS and the upcoming year. Meet us at the Corner of Gould St. and Victoria St!

TMAPS 101 (Virtual) 

Monday, September 25th, 2023, 4-6pm

Join us for a presentation that introduces your students’ union, TMAPS and all that we do! This presentation will help you learn more about our health and dental plan, services, campaigns, and events that we hold throughout the year, as well as how you can get involved in the union as a volunteer or class representative!

Free Grassy Narrows Land Alliance Rally

Wednesday, September 27th, 2023, 12 pm

On September 27th, 2023, five First Nations from Northern Ontario will come to Toronto to lead a march calling on Premier Ford to end unwanted mining activity on our Territories.  These five strong First Nations have formed a historic alliance to protect their lands and waters in the face of mounting concerns about encroachment on our territories by mining exploration companies who have been enabled by the Ford Government.

Join TMAPS as we rally in solidarity with Grassy Narrows! This is a family friendly event – children and dependents are welcome to join – rain or shine! 

Location – Downtown Toronto (exact – TBD!)
