Submitting a Claim
Submitting your claim should never be a hassle! Greenshield offers 3 quick and easy ways you can submit your claims:
You can submit your claims online through Green Shield Canada’s website. You must register for Plan Member Online Services Portal to submit your receipts online. For faster processing, input your banking information to receive your payment via direct deposit in just 24 hours.
Your service provider, (EX: your dentist’s office or pharmacy for example), may submit claims on your behalf at the time you receive your service. Your service provider will use your Green Shield ID number to look up your coverage, and will ask you to pay the remaining balance which will not be covered by your insurance.
Your Green Shield ID number consists of:
The letters CSR, plus your student number, in addition to -00.
For example: CSR 999999999 -00

If you’d like to submit paper claims, you have the option to do so by following the steps below.
To submit your receipts manually, you need:
- Your Green Shield ID Number.
- All original itemized paid receipts.
- Medical referral or Doctor’s note with first claim if required.
- To fill out a claim form. Please click here for a full list of GSC’s claim forms found on the left hand panel. Note that the “General Claim Form” should be used for both health and/or dental claims.
Note: TMAPS provides you with printed claims forms, along with one-on-one assistance in filling out your forms. As an added service, TMAPS will mail your forms free of charge to Green Shield!
Processing Times: Claims take approximately two weeks to process, which includes the time to mail the reimbursement cheque to your address.
Direct Deposit: Students must register on the GSC Everywhere site/application and provide their banking information if they wish to use this option.
Status of Claim: Students may call 1-888-711-1119 toll free, or 519-739-1133 for current information on the status of their submitted claim. You can also reach them via email at firstname.lastname@example.org. Green Shield’s Customer Service Centre operates from Mon to Fri 8:30 am – 8:30 pm EST.
Claim submission deadline: Claims must be received by Green Shield Canada within 12 months of the service date in order to be eligible for reimbursement on the expenses paid.
