Part-time Degree Programs
Ryerson University is unique in that it has part-time undergraduate degree programs that are specifically designated as part-time degree programs. This survey is not for students who are studying part-time, but for students enrolled in part-time undergraduate degree programs.
Student Representation
Currently, part-time undergraduate degree students are solely represented by the Continuing Education Students’ Association of Ryerson (CESAR) which represents continuing education and part-time degree students via a students’ union. Student societies exist in different faculties as arms-length bodies from the university to do student programming and advocacy related to the specific faculty.
Referendum Process
In order to collect fees from students, the student society needs to run a referendum (vote) to collect fees, which in this case would be mandatory. This requires approval at the Ryerson Board of Governors and approval from CESAR. CESAR is seeking feedback from part-time degree students before endorsing the referendum.
Confidentiality
All information collected in this survey will be kept confidential to the Continuing Education Students’ Association of Ryerson’s (CESAR) Privacy Officers. Results of the survey, minus personal information, will be shared with the RCSS/FCSS.
